| Installed easily by the brick layer during construction. | |
Suits face brick and rendered brick or block.
Adjustable during rendering.
Fully assembled with hinged Louvred grate and blue mortar protector.
Louvred grate designed for maximum airflow under normal conditions but presents a restricted pathway for extreme driving horizontal wind and rain. (see airflow assessment below)
Size: 75 mm (H) x 10 mm (W) x 105 mm (D) |
|
| For extreme driving rain and high wind exposure such as experienced on coastal high rise buildings. | |
Louvres set back with no protrusions that capture high speed vertical winds common to high rise.
Healthy homes need well ventilated and drained cavities to reduce fungal decay and mildew.
Rendered finishes made easier and better looking. |
|
The Louvred Weepa comes with a pre assembled Louvred grate and blue mortar guard to protect the Louvred grate during construction. The assembly is hinged at the top for inspection and to allow cavity washout where this practice is sanctioned.
The Louvred Weepa is installed by the bricklayer. It can then be adjusted by the renderer who uses it as formwork to achieve neat and beautiful finishes.
After painting and clean up the blue mortar guard is removed for attractive, airflow and drainage.

Airflow assessment of Novel Ventilation and Moisture Drainage Holes by Centre for Wireless Monitoring and Applications, Griffith University.
no significant restriction of airflow under typical normal and extreme operating conditions.
under extreme laboratory conditions (over 100x typical flow rates)
the measurable restriction of the most restrictive insert, the Louvred Grate, was four times that of a Standard grate.

Provide weepholes to AS3700 clause 4.7.2, in the form of Louvred Weepa, to external leaves of cavity walls in the course directly above damp proof courses, flashing and cavity fill, and at the bottom of the infill cavity. Spacing: Not to exceed 800mm. Note: Designs for extreme climates and airconditioned buildings should consider closer spacing than AS3700 for greater airflow to dry cavities.
